David Matle is the National Focal Person for the East African Community Medicines Regulatory Harmonization (EAC MRH) Programme. He is based at Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA) Headquarters, Dar es Salaam Tanzania.
David received the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2001. After practicing for three years as a hospital pharmacist at Muhimbili National Hospital, he joined TFDA as Drug Registration Officer. He was recruited by the EAC Secretariat as the National Medicines Regulation Officer under the EAC MRH Programme in 2013.
While working under this programme, He earned his Master of Science degree in Biotechnology Innovation and Regulatory Sciences (BIRS) from Purdue University – USA. He is a registered Pharmacist by the Pharmacy Council (PC) of Tanzania and a member of Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania (PST).
As the Focal Person in the EAC MRH Programme, David currently coordinates joint assessment sessions of medicinal products applied for registration under this programme.
